Kamala rani Sagardighi Habiganj Sylhet BD

 

The 66-acre historic and scenic Kamala rani Sagardighi (or Sagardighi) located at Baniachang in Habiganj is one of the largest reservoirs in the country, dug by the local king Padmanabh in the name of his wife Kamalavati. Location: In the central part of Baniachang upazila of Habiganj district

History: In the 12th century, King Padmanabha dug it to relieve the water woes of his subjects. According to folklore, Rani Kamala vati surrendered when the water did not rise in the Dighi.

Size: Spread over an area of ​​about 66 acres or more, which is almost as big as an ocean.
