Satchari National Park (established 2005, area 243 hectares)
located in Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj is one of the best natural tourist
centers located in Raghunandan Hills. Its name is Satchari due to having seven
mountain rhymes. It is popular for its diverse wildlife, birds, and tea
gardens. About 130 km from Dhaka. One can enjoy trekking and nature in this
remote forest.
Main attractions and facts of Satchari National Park:
- Location: Raghunandan Hill Reserve Forest, Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj District.
- Best time to visit: October to March (winter) is crowded with tourists and suitable for forest trekking.
Attraction:
- Trekking and Watch Towers: Walking trails inside the forest and a view of the entire forest can be enjoyed from the watch tower.
- Birds and Wildlife: A paradise for bird-lovers, various rare species of birds and monkeys can be seen.
- Tea Gardens: Tea gardens around the garden (eg Satchari and Chaklapunji tea gardens) add to the beauty.
- Adivasi Village: Tripura Adivasi village visit inside the forest.
- Travel: From Dhaka by bus to Shaistaganj New Bridge, from there you can take local CNG or car via Chunarughat to go directly to Satchari.
- Special Precautions: No loud noise, littering or disturbing wildlife inside the forest.
Since the beginning of winter, the number of tourists here
increases and the local restaurants and tourist centers in the vicinity are
crowded.
