Rema-Kalenga Wildlife Sanctuary located in Chunarughat
Upazila of Habiganj is the second largest natural forest in Bangladesh and a
safe haven for wildlife. Below are the
main attractions and travel information of this sanctuary:
Main attractions
Watch Tower and Lake: Just after entering the forest there
is a beautiful lake with a tall watch tower next to it. A beautiful view of the entire forest can be
enjoyed from the tower.
Trekking Trails: There are three different trekking trails of
half an hour, one hour and three hours to see the beauty of the forest.
Biodiversity: 37 species of mammals, 167 species of birds
and 638 species of plants are found here. It is one of the favorite places for
tourists to see rare species of birds and wildlife.
Ethnographic Population: Inside the forest there is an
opportunity to see first-hand the diverse lifestyles of the tribals of Tripura,
Santal and Urrao communities.

Entry Fee: BDT.50 per person.
Timings: Open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM.
How to get there: From Habiganj you can go to the sanctuary
by CNG or bus via Chunarughat. It is
also possible to go directly to Kalenga by booking a jeep from Srimangal.
